PRE-BUY INSPECTIONS
PEACE OF MIND WHEN YOU BUY
PacTex Aviation is pleased to partner with Meyerflyer Aviation to offer Pre-Buy Inspections and Instructor Checkouts.

Pre-Buy Inspections
Matt provides independent, mobile pre-buy aircraft inspections for buyers who want a clear,
unbiased evaluation before purchasing an aircraft.
As a certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic, he will travel to the aircraft’s location and perform a thorough inspection focused on general condition, airworthiness, and value.
He is there to represent you as the buyer. He is not affiliated with the seller or maintenance facility. His role is to give you accurate information so you can move forward with confidence—or walk away if necessary.
What’s Included:
• Logbook & records review
Airworthiness status, AD compliance, verify airframe and engine times, look for any missing logbooks or paperwork, and maintenance history.
• Airframe inspection
Structure, flight controls, corrosion areas, and overall condition.
• Engine & powerplant evaluation
General condition, leaks, compression test, and bore scope inspection. Ground run engine to verify operational checks ok.
Reporting & Support
You receive a clear, written report detailing findings, severity, and recommended considerations. Matt is available to review the results with you and help you understand how they affect ownership costs, negotiations, or risk.
Why Use a Traveling A&P
• Independent, buyer-only inspection
• On-site evaluation at the aircraft’s location
• Practical, real-world assessments—not just a checklist
Who This Is For
• First-time and experienced aircraft buyers
• Out-of-state or remote aircraft purchases
• Buyers seeking an objective second set of eyes
Travel is available nationwide.
Instructor Checkout
Matt is also a certified flight instructor and is available to provide comprehensive aircraft delivery checkouts for your new aircraft upon delivery. Whether you need the checkout to satisfy your insurance company requirements or simply want the confidence and peace of mind to feel safe behind the controls of your new aircraft, the training is tailored to your
needs.
Instruction is customized to your experience level and the specific aircraft, with a strong emphasis on safety, proficiency, and confidence from day one. He can also provide tailwheel checkouts for pilots transitioning into tailwheel aircraft.

MEET MATT MEYER
Matt Meyer is a pilot, aircraft mechanic/inspector, and flight instructor from Redding,
California, with a deep passion for aviation rooted in a lifetime around airplanes. He grew
up building and flying airplanes alongside his father, laying the foundation for a hands-on
aviation career. Matt earned his private pilot certificate in 2008, followed by his commercial
pilot certificate in 2011, and his CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates later that same year. He
completed his A&P certification in 2014 and received his IA (Inspector Authorization) in
2017.
He builds, maintains, and ferries airplanes for new owners, ensuring each aircraft is safe
and ready to fly. He specializes in tailwheel flight training, instructing students in his Piper J-
3 Cub and helping them develop the skills and precision this style of flying demands.
Outside of instruction, Matt enjoys flying aerobatics in his Pitts Special S-1S and regularly
travels to perform pre-buy inspections, helping prospective owners make informed
decisions. For Matt, aviation is more than a career—it’s hands-on, exhilarating, and
something he loves sharing with others
