Originally from Mexico, Rey got bit by the aviation bug from a young age by seeing his grandfather fly Air Tractors crop dusting. Then, his parents encouraged him even more by getting him a flight simulator at home where he also spent countless hours dreaming about one day becoming a professional pilot.

 

Determined to achieve his dream, he enrolled in flight school at age 15 in Mcallen, TX where he has called home since 2007 after moving from Mexico. In school, he worked through his ratings until he officially became a certified Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor.

After a short period of time flight instructing, he went into the world of corporate aviation flying and managing private jets as a first officer, then a captain, and eventually as chief pilot.

Next, he got a call from his dream job, becoming an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for Southwest Airlines, where he has been since 2022 and enjoys every second of it!

 

Having a passion and love for aviation, Rey has always been interested in being involved in general aviation as much as possible and is very excited about having the opportunity to help others achieve their dreams and connect with aviation as a member of the PacTex team!
